Princess Tutu

There's been a lot of Tchaikovsky in the last few weeks of my life- that warbled 1812 Overture in "Hannah Takes the Stairs", the "Swan Lake" anime that resurfaced as a welcome childhood gifthood, and then "Princess Tutu".

It has your typical "duck turns into ballerina whenever she becomes sexually aroused" plot, but the music is transporting, a mini education on ballet. I still can't quite figure out why the cat-cum-ballet-instructor threatens to rape the prepubescent girls whenever they fail to perform their plies correctly.
