Nobel, nobook, nocandle, no nothing

America. I'm pretty sure that this is the only country in the world that, upon hearing its President just won the Nobel Peace Prize, feels no pride or reason to celebrate, but instead trips over itself in the race to point out the dude probably doesn't deserve it. How can you not love that?

So true. I think it's somehow connected to the rise of the term "corny" to describe anything earnest, "ironic" to describe something earnest that has been mistaken for flip, and "honest" to describe anything negative, especially when the irony has been missed.

:-p I'm just kidding. I had this interesting dream last night where George W. Bush had won the Nobel Peace Prize and think of the world's reaction to THAT. lol
