Fight Like Apes! Another animal-named band! Is there a big overlap between indie bands and frustrated zoology majors? "Tie Me Up With Jackets" doesn't do much for me, (not-so-lovely-noise), but blessedly it's brief. Just there for the video. I'm a sucker for that "Waking Life" animation-vibe, didn'tcha know?

I'm not a huge Fight Like Apes fan or anything, but you really ought to
(a) go find a song by them called "Something Global" and listen to it a few times
(b) if you still don't like it, at least track down the lyrics on songmeanings or whatever. It's a song I'd imagine you'd be sympathetic to.
It's like that time in history when bands were named after places, you know, Boston, Kansas, Chicago...the haircuts are just as bad.

"Travel exhausts me"- Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Re: Ian
Just did. "Something Global" is ridiculously catchy, and overall I like FLA's interplay between the lead singer and the howling guys - but they remind me of someone else and I can't decide who.
Oh, hey, FLA- is that a hidden shoutout to my state of residence?!? Probably not.
Re: Ian
And that line about the preacher's hands running over all the cleavage in town is my favorite.
See, I knew you'd like it! Album's kind of uneven, though.
Re: Ian
The song titles clued me in to the uneveness. It does seem worth a one-time background listen, though.
